Glenn Wilson, Co-Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer, of Communities First, Inc., was honored with the 2025 Excellence in Homeless Service Award by the Michigan Campaign to End Homelessness during the Michigan Summit on Ending Homelessness held Oct. 21 in Lansing.
Wilson leads the Flint-based nonprofit—which also operates in Detroit and serves communities across Michigan and Indiana—in advancing equitable real estate development, economic mobility, and community engagement. Under his leadership, Communities First has developed or preserved more than 600 affordable housing units, secured over $100 million in investment, created more than 2,000 jobs, and serves over 35,000 people annually.
Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Northwood University and a Master of Science in Administration with a focus on Leadership from Central Michigan University. Widely recognized as a visionary leader, he has served on several corporate and nonprofit boards, including the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, Michigan Housing Council, and Mass Transportation Authority, and has received numerous honors including Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Black Leaders and 40 Under 40 distinctions. Wilson’s work continues to transform lives through strategic partnerships, innovation, and deep compassion.
