Voters overwhelmingly desire compromise, but have little faith that Washington, D.C., can deliver, and are split on Lansing’s cooperation.

The Detroit Regional Chamber’s Michigan Voter Poll, released on Feb. 23, 2026, showed an overwhelming demand for Republicans and Democrats to compromise to address Michigan’s problems. They also believe the legislators in Lansing are more willing to compromise than those in Washington, D.C.
