John Kwant is vice president of city solutions for Ford Smart Mobility LLC. He leads Ford’s global efforts to partner with municipalities to identify key urban mobility needs that inform its development of new mobility services while also working to create, pilot and implement new mobility solutions in cities worldwide.
Kwant previously served as Ford’s director of global strategy, focusing on Smart Mobility initiatives. He also worked in Ford’s Asia-Pacific Group for more than 10 years in a variety of roles including regional vice president for government affairs for Ford’s Asia-Pacific operations. Kwant joined Ford in 1999 to assist in business development, mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances surrounding internet distribution channel partners. He is the founder and managing director of Ford’s Venture Capital Group, which managed numerous corporate investments.
Prior to joining Ford, Kwant worked for Pitney Bowes Inc., where he was responsible for internet business development, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this, he worked as a consultant with Deloitte Consulting and held various management positions with General Motors Co.
