Seth Bodnar is an executive in Global Locomotive Operations at GE Transportation. A native of Franklin, Pennsylvania, Seth joined GE in July 2011 after a career in the U.S. Army. He received a BS in economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating as the top-ranked cadet in his class. A recipient of both the Truman and Rhodes scholarships, Seth holds masters degrees in social policy and economic history from Oxford University. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer and served as a rifle platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division, with service in Iraq in 2003-4. After being selected for and completing the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course, Seth served in the 1st Special Forces Group, commanding a detachment of Green Berets during multiple overseas deployments. After completing his detachment command in 2008, Seth again deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, where he served as special assistant to the commanding general. Upon returning from Iraq in 2009, Seth served for two years as an assistant professor of economics at West Point. At GE, Seth has held strategy, finance, and product management roles.
He and his wife, Chelsea, a Montana native, currently live in Erie, Pennsylvania, with their three children.
