Plunkett Cooney Litigation Support Coordinator Andrea Barragan was recently named a 2025 Unsung Hero by Michigan Lawyers Weekly (MiLW), an industry publication serving the state’s legal community.
Barragan, along with 24 other law firm employees, was selected for the 2025 Class of Unsung Heroes for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes. This honor is reserved for the state’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals, including law librarians, paralegals, legal secretaries, firm administrators, information technologists, legal educators, and law firm marketers. Profiles of the 2025 Unsung Heroes appeared in yesterday’s special supplement of MiLW.
Barragan, who joined the firm in 2008, manages the Litigation Support Department, providing technical assistance to attorneys in all practice groups. She assists with various aspects of eDiscovery, including data collection; data loading and reviewing; audio and video editing; and addressing various other technical issues attorneys and legal support staff members might encounter. Barragan also helps attorneys and paralegals who are preparing for trial by managing document-intensive files, assisting with document production, and trial presentations in court.
Barragan earned her paralegal certificate and an associate’s degree from Oakland Community College in 2017 and 2023, respectively. She earned additional certifications in digital evidence discovery from Wilmington University in 2018 and inData Trial Director in 2015.
