Chuck Stokes is the Editorial and Public Affairs Director for WXYZ-TV. Additionally, he serves as the Moderator and Producer of “Spotlight on the News,” Michigan’s longest-running weekly news and public affairs show.
Prior to being named the Editorial and Public Affairs Director, Stokes worked as the station’s Executive Producer of Special Projects in News. He previously worked at WTVF-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, as a Producer and On-Air Reporter.
Stokes is a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient from the Detroit Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and was inducted into the Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame in 2011. He is the past chairman of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation and the current Vice President of the Historical Society of Michigan. He also serves in the board of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
