Diajah Ruffin is a dynamic leader making her mark in the nonprofit and political sectors. As the newly appointed Project and Partnerships Manager at Communities First, Inc. (CFI), she brings a fresh perspective and a results-driven approach to advancing economic mobility and community development. CFI is a nonprofit community development corporation headquartered in Flint and with offices in Detroit. CFI serves over 35,000 community members across Michigan and Indiana. CFI’s mission is to build healthy, vibrant communities through economic development, affordable housing, and innovative programming. Diajah’s passion for creating pathways to opportunity is matched by her ability to build powerful relationships and inspire action. A Co-founder of Black Women in Michigan Politics, she is committed to uplifting the voices of Black women in leadership and transforming systems to empower underserved communities–that have long been predominantly Black. Her journey began at the Michigan State Capitol, where she served as a Community Liaison and Legislative Aide, navigating the complexities of policy and advocacy. Transitioning into the nonprofit sector, at GreenLight Fund, Diajah excelled at portfolio management, investor relations, and narrative development. She is a strategic thinker, a natural connector, and a fierce advocate for equity. Diajah has earned a reputation as a visionary change-maker, inspiring those around her to reimagine what’s possible for their community, together.
