Free Senior Tech Class
March 8 @ 12:00 pm – April 19 @ 5:00 pm
The Senior Tech Class is designed to empower seniors with essential digital skills through a free, eight-week program. This initiative provides a supportive environment where participants of all ages can engage in group discussions on various topics, including:
- Online Safety: Learn how to protect your personal information and navigate the internet securely.
- Social Media: Discover how to use popular platforms to connect with family and friends.
- Tablets and Smartphones: Familiarize yourself with these devices and their functionalities to enhance daily communication and activities.
- QR Codes: Explore how to scan and utilize QR codes to access information, making technology more accessible.
The program will take place every Saturday from Feb. 15 to April 19, held at the University of Detroit Mercy in Room 138 of the finance building. Each class will commence promptly at noon.
At the end of the program, participants will attend a graduation celebration luncheon at the Northwest Activities Center on April 19 in Room 2, starting at noon. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion and enjoy a meal provided by Chef Greg’s Soul-N-The Wall.
Clayton Cortez, a dedicated multimedia journalist and producer, will lead the Senior Tech Class. The sessions are designed to be both informative and enjoyable.
All participants are encouraged to bring their devices to class, as hands-on experience will be integral to the learning process. Our goal is to help everyone learn about technology and use it to enhance their everyday lives.
We look forward to seeing you in class! For more information, please visit SeniorTechClass.com or call (313) 777-5002.
